Confronting Racism in Healthcare, Past & Present

Join the Anne Arundel Chapter of Healthcare is Human Right Maryland and Showing Up for Racial Justice Annapolis and Anne Arundel County (SURJ 3A) for a film screening and panelĀ discussion of POWER TO HEAL, an hour-long documentary that tells a chapter in the historic struggle to secure equal and adequate access to healthcare for all Americans.

Central to the story is the tale of how a new national program, Medicare, was used to mount a dramatic, coordinated effort that desegregated thousands of hospitals across the country in a matter of months. More info on the film can be found atĀ www.blbfilmproductions.com.

Afterward, we will have a panel-led discussion about inequality in healthcare today and the movement for universal healthcare.
